The Sheldon Historical Society Museum

At the Sheldon Town Meeting in March 2016, the taxpayers of Sheldon voted to appropriate funds to purchcase a property located at 200 Bridge Street in Sheldon.
The purchase was for the purposes of renovation and restoration into the Sheldon Historical Museum.

This historic site has been home to a number of businesses since the early 1700s. Most recently it was known as "Junior's Harness Shop.

The Mercure's also occupied the building as a market. Jim Mercure is seen in this photo.

When purchased the property required an extensive cleaning.
The Society organized a weekend "Work Bee" over the summer with over 25 volunteers working to clear the rooms and clean up the grounds.
A pizza party was held at the end of the event.

On June 6, 2017 the Society held another event called "Spring Into Action - Clean Up Green Up" that was well attended and resulted in the clearing of all materials from the first floor and cleaning out the basement potion of the building in preparation for wall repair. Additional outside work was completed and all scrape metal and trash were removed.
